Jaime Pressly was asked to leave the Signia by Hilton San Jose last Thursday after witnesses say her behavior in the lobby prompted complaints to hotel staff. The My Name Is Earl star was staying at the hotel ahead of a scheduled appearance at GalaxyCon at the nearby convention center.

Guests say Pressly spent roughly 30 minutes in the lobby talking loudly on her phone, swearing and drinking alcohol – details that led some to believe she appeared under the influence. The noise and commotion drew attention from other patrons attending events at the hotel.

What witnesses reported

According to multiple eyewitnesses, her phone conversation included emotional comments about family and relationships that seemed to alarm people nearby. During the call, onlookers say she used explicit language and reacted strongly when staff tried to intervene.

"She sounded emotional and kept telling whoever was on the line how much she loved them and how important their role was in her life," one witness recalled, adding that her tone and language worried other guests.

After the call ended, witnesses say Pressly approached a woman who was attending a wedding at the hotel and touched her arm while complaining about the security guards. That interaction prompted a complaint and further attention from hotel staff.

Security response and aftermath

Two security guards approached Pressly after someone complained about her behavior. Witnesses say she initially ignored them, even gesturing with a finger while still on the phone. She stepped outside to smoke, then returned about 10 minutes later holding hands with a valet employee and went straight to the bar for another drink.

Hotel security ultimately escorted her away after reports she put her hands on another guest – apparently the woman attending the wedding – though sources tell TMZ Pressly left on her own. People familiar with the situation say she was dealing with family matters at the time, which may have contributed to her unusual behavior.

Pressly later canceled her scheduled GalaxyCon appearance. Representatives for Pressly have not responded to requests for comment, according to reports.
