The seasoned actress recently sat down with Evan Ross Katz on the "Shut Up Evan" podcast, reflecting on the intense scrutiny her family faced and the unexpected requests that came with it.

The Price of Fame: A Soccer Mom's Dilemma

Garner, who shares three children – Violet, 20, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 14 – with her ex-husband Ben Affleck, recalled how the paparazzi once invaded her child's soccer practice to such an extent that the family was asked to stop attending. "If I went through a yellow light, 15 cars would go through the red behind me," Garner vividly described. "They would drive up onto people's lawns, even on a hillside."

“We were trying to have our little one play soccer, and the association asked us to stop because there were 20 cars coming,” she said. "So it wasn't just about us. It was just an industry that had gotten out of control."

The Emotional Toll on Garner’s Family

The "Alias" star didn't shy away from discussing the emotional impact the relentless paparazzi attention had on her and her family. She recounted instances when photographers blocked them from entering the pediatrician's office, making already stressful situations even more difficult. "The kids are paying the price," she lamented, underscoring the emotional burden carried by her children.

Despite these challenges, Garner acknowledged the privileges that come with her career, albeit complicated by the constant media attention. She previously advocated for anti-paparazzi legislation in California, seeking stronger protections for celebrity children.

While discussing her current relationship with paparazzi, Garner admitted to an "odd" connection with a few photographers who have trailed her for over two decades. In a twist of irony, she described a moment when she sought help from a familiar photographer in a potentially dangerous situation.

"I was followed by someone who, for whatever reason, I thought was going to hurt me, and I ran to [a photographer] because I knew him and trusted him," she shared. "We've had some really real-life moments together." Yet, she acknowledged the limits of this relationship, jokingly referring to it as "Stockholm syndrome."

Praising Ben Affleck’s Role as Co-Parent

In a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly, Garner praised her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, for his role as a supportive co-parent. Despite their divorce nearly a decade ago, Garner expressed appreciation for Affleck’s commitment to their children. "He takes care of them. He's a great partner in that way. And that's very freeing," she noted.
