Hollywood’s beloved Minnie Driver is sharing her gratitude for life after a terrifying car accident in the heart of France. The 56-year-old actress took to Instagram on Thursday, August 6, from her cozy London bedroom, appearing with a neck brace and a candid message about her recent ordeal.

"Hi, guys. Paris update is that I'm actually back in London," Driver said. "I got into a really bad car accident a few days ago with my friend, Ben. And we somehow walked out of it. Well, we didn't walk out of it; we crawled out of it. But we did get out of it alive."

A Close Call on French Roads

Driver recounted the shocking crash, which unfolded on a serene country road in France. As fate would have it, another vehicle blasted through an intersection without stopping, leading to a high-speed T-bone collision. "To be very clear, it was not our fault," she clarified. "We were driving on a country road in the middle of France, and a car didn't stop at an intersection and was going at speed. And we just T-boned it."

Despite suffering from a sprained neck and the ongoing emotional aftershocks of the crash, Driver is optimistic about her recovery. "I'm fine, I've got a sprained neck and I'm really in shock and sort of cry all the time, but I'm going to heal," she reassured her followers.

Safety First, Thanks to Kia

Driver credited their survival to the robust safety features of the Kia EV2 they were traveling in. "The reason that I'm not dead, honestly, is the car that we were driving," she stated, emphasizing the vehicle’s "360-degree airbags." Making light of her surname, she added, "I want to celebrate that car. I'm Minnie Driver, pun intended."

Her heartfelt post featured images of the battered vehicle and hints of a hospital visit. She expressed her gratitude towards a passerby who stopped to lend a hand before emergency teams arrived. "My brain keeps replaying the crash which is very hard but seems to be a necessary part of processing," she penned. "Weeping too, feels good and helpful. Thank you to my friends, my family, all the people at work and especially my friend Ben and his family. I love you."
