The red carpet at the Golden Globes is always a whirlwind of flashbulbs and fashion, and this year was no exception. At The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, Jennifer Lopez made a stunning appearance, but it wasn’t just her vintage Jean-Louis Scherrer gown that caught attention. A behind-the-scenes clip from the event showed J.Lo at Cole Walliser's famous Glambot station, briefly posing and then moving on with a wave. This moment sparked a flurry of online chatter accusing the superstar of being "rude."
Cole Walliser, the director behind the Glambot's signature slow-motion captures, took to Instagram on Sunday to clear the air. "I didn't take it personally. It didn't feel rude in that moment," Walliser shared in his video. He explained that the bustling environment and J.Lo's business-like approach were likely misunderstood. "The carpet was closed. She's ready to go inside. She knew what she was gonna do," he elaborated, adding that the momentary back-turn was simply part of her prep for the perfect shot.
"I think there's a couple things that added to the fuel of this idea. One, she's just down to business," Walliser noted about the incident.
Walliser, with his years of experience capturing celebrities on red carpets, acknowledged that such events can be overwhelming for stars. "Sometimes (guests) don't know what they're walking up to," he explained, highlighting the unpredictability celebrities face in such high-energy settings. Despite the chaos, Walliser expressed gratitude towards fans of his Glambot creations, stating, "I do want to thank you guys for watching the content, for commenting, for having my back on things."
While Walliser has stepped in to defend her, Jennifer Lopez herself hasn't addressed the swirling rumors. Her representatives have stayed silent on the matter, perhaps letting Walliser's words speak for themselves. In Hollywood, sometimes the strongest statement is silence, letting the star's dazzling presence do the talking.
