James Fishback's Controversial Proposal

In a move that's turning heads even on the sun-drenched streets of Miami, Republican gubernatorial candidate James Fishback is proposing a 50% "sin tax" on OnlyFans creators if he secures Florida's top political spot. With his eyes set on the Governor's mansion, Fishback has made it clear that he sees the popular content subscription service as a source of moral decline and a potential revenue stream for the state.

"Young women once aspired to be devoted mothers, doctors, lawyers, and nurses," Fishback commented to Fox News Digital, highlighting his concerns over societal values.

Fishback envisions that this tax could rake in a cool $200 million to be channeled into the state’s education system and other critical areas. According to Fox 35, he’s even open to taxing OnlyFans customers themselves, expanding the net of his proposal.

Aims to Reroute Society's Focus

Alongside educational funding, Fishback plans to direct these funds to crisis pregnancy centers and a unique mental health initiative aimed particularly at men. He believes this is essential because men, in his view, have been unfairly labeled as the root of societal problems. "I’m not going to stand for that slanderous lie," he told podcaster Joel Webbon.

With his platform, Fishback seeks to steer young women away from platforms like OnlyFans, urging them towards traditional roles he deems more suitable. "As Florida’s governor, I don’t want young women...selling their bodies to sick men online," he told Webbon.

Clapbacks from OnlyFans Creators

However, not everyone shares Fishback's view. The proposal has stirred up a flurry of reactions, especially from those within the OnlyFans community.

Sophie Rain, a well-known OnlyFans creator, called the tax plan "the dumbest thing" she’s ever heard. "No one ever forced me to start an OnlyFans, it was MY decision," she told People magazine, emphasizing her autonomy.

"I am a Christian, God knows what I am doing, and I know he is happy with me, that’s the only validation I need," Rain asserted.

Piper Fawn, another creator, voiced concerns that Fishback’s proposal is less about governance and more about imposing religious viewpoints. "Sin is a biblical term, it’s not a legal term," she pointed out on FOX 35, suggesting that the candidate's focus might be better spent elsewhere.

The debate is heating up, and as Fishback continues to push his agenda, all eyes are on Florida to see how this bold proposition plays out in the political arena.
