According to journalist Amy Odell’s “Back Row” newsletter, the famous parents once attempted to secure an exclusive Hermès Kelly bag for their eldest daughter at the Beverly Hills Hermès boutique – but were turned away. A former employee spilled the tea, confessing that not every celebrity walks away with their wish list fulfilled. "Kanye West and Kim Kardashian wanted a Black Mini Kelly bag for North or something like that. And Hermès said no," the insider shared.

"I have no idea why, but we were like, ‘Oh, wow.’ I think at that point it goes through corporate, because if someone who's that high profile wants something, then obviously they’re going to be photographed in it — and they don’t want just anyone photographed in it," the source continued.

Why Hermès Held Back

The insider elaborated, explaining that normally a request of this magnitude would go through Hermès' corporate hierarchy, given the high-profile nature of the buyers. Surprisingly, the company opted not to grant this particular mini-bag wish, leaving even the staff in disbelief. The alligator Mini Kelly is a rare gem, often fetching more than $75,000 on the resale market, which might explain the cautious decision.

Yet, for North West and her fashion-forward family, life without one more Hermès piece likely isn’t a major setback. The young style icon already boasts a wardrobe filled with various Hermès treasures, including her own Mini Kellys and even a custom-painted Herbag that she gifted her mom.

A Collection to Covet

Kim Kardashian herself is no stranger to the opulent designs of Hermès, with a collection that would make any fan of the French fashion house green with envy. From Mini Kellys to rare Birkins, the Kardashian matriarch has them all, including a Jean Paul Gaultier-designed Shoulder Birkin and the coveted Himalaya Birkin.
