Jack Osbourne recently showed his vulnerable side on the hit show "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" as he opened up about the loss of his legendary father. The emotional segment aired as Jack, now 40, reflected on the passing of his father, Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic Black Sabbath frontman, who died in July at 76.
In a heartfelt moment with his fellow campmates, Jack shared, "It was definitely a shock. I mean, we knew he was sick for a while but it was definitely a shock. I mean, we didn’t know it would be that quick. It was the ultimate mic drop, he did a massive big gig and was like, alright I’m done." The emotions were palpable as Jack conveyed just how fresh and raw the pain still is for him.
“He’d be so supportive of this.”
Jack, who noted his dad would have been supportive of his decision to be on the show, became visibly emotional, revealing the profound impact Ozzy had on his life.
Jack's candid reflections didn't stop there. He shared how his mother, Sharon Osbourne, has been coping with the loss. "She’s okay, but she’s not okay. It’s ups and downs," Jack told Rolling Stone magazine. While life without Ozzy is a new reality they're still adjusting to, Jack emphasized the resilience that his father instilled in them.
Jack admitted, "I’m still navigating it all ... it’s been three nearly four months and so it’s still pretty fresh." Despite the heavy emotions, Jack finds solace in the memory of his father's indomitable spirit, recalling a moment when Ozzy appeared on David Letterman not long after the tragic death of Randy Rhoads. "See, he’s telling us. Got to keep going," Jack remembered his father's words, providing a guiding light in these dark times.
As Jack continues to honor Ozzy’s legacy, he’s bringing Sharon back to their Los Angeles roots, a place filled with memories and support, to help her find her new normal. Life moves forward, but the impact of Ozzy's life and music will forever linger in the hearts of many.
