Jim Belushi's New Chapter in Oregon

Many celebrities have a unique hobby or "second act" they pursue outside their famed careers. While Michael Jordan is hitting the links and dominating NASCAR, and John Travolta takes to the skies, Jim Belushi has found his calling on an Oregon ranch. Known for over 40 years of laughter and entertainment, Belushi's property is more than just land; it's home to a cannabis farm and a spiritual sweat lodge.

In a recent chat with Fox News Digital, Belushi gushed about the arrival of new calves on his property, calling it his "spiritual sanctuary." His Oregon ranch isn't just about business – it's a personal retreat where nature's beauty takes center stage.

"There's 50 cows on my property right now that just had 50 calves, and it's the cutest thing I've ever seen," he shared. "These little calves running around chasing each other. Actually, last night, I got video of it."

Hollywood Memories and K9 Antics

Reminiscing about his Hollywood days, Belushi talked about his role as Michael Dooley in the 1989 comedy, K-9. He shared his experience of working with dogs, fondly recalling an unplanned yet "magic moment" on set.

He divulged, "There's an old saying that goes don't work with dogs and don't work with children. And I did K-9 and Curly Sue. What's different about working with dogs is what you hope every other actor has the ability to be extremely present."

Belushi also revealed how he prepared for K-9 by doing "ride-alongs" in Los Angeles, diving deep into the world of canine training, along with some memorable unscripted moments – like when a dog pushed his head down during a scene, making for a classic Hollywood memory.

New Adventures with A&E's K-9 PD

Embracing a love for action and animals, Belushi is now hosting a new A&E series, "K-9 PD with Jim Belushi." This show takes viewers behind the scenes of intense, real-life incidents involving police officers and their furry partners.

Belushi described the series as "visceral." He noted, "You've got drama, you've got a little humor in it, but you really have that warmth between the handler. They are in moments of life and death always, and how they care for each other, protect each other. It's beautiful to watch."

This bond, he explains, is profound: "And they take these guys home. And that dog becomes part of their family, and that dog protects that family, and that protects that officer. Not on the street, they're protecting everybody, including the bad guy. To me, that's what was the most interesting thing is the relationship between the handler and their animal. It runs really deep."
