The Big Move: Leaving the City of Angels

Looks like Joe Manganiello and Caitlin O’Connor are trading in the hustle and bustle of LA for the scenic vibes of Pittsburgh. Caitlin recently spilled the beans, sharing that concerns about safety were a major factor in their decision to pack up and leave the City of Angels.

According to Caitlin, “The crime in Los Angeles is at an all-time high,” she shared with Fox News Digital. “We were thinking about it for a long time, and the right house happened to come up. We went to look at it in Pittsburgh, and it was perfect for us.” And while recent reports suggest a downward trend in LA's crime rates, it's clear that Caitlin and Joe felt a change of scenery was in order.

“Also, L.A. is no longer the entertainment capital of the world. Actors do not audition there anymore. Many casting directors don’t have offices there anymore.”

Shifting Sands of the Entertainment Industry

Caitlin also pointed out that Tinseltown isn't quite what it used to be. With auditions happening on Zoom and premieres shifting to New York, the entertainment scene is evolving. Caitlin elaborated, “Many projects are being filmed overseas, even by professionals who have worked in L.A. on set their whole lives. The industry has moved. It’s no longer there.”

Remote work trends, fueled by the pandemic and the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, have changed how and where work gets done. Caitlin and Joe decided to make Pittsburgh their new base, a place familiar to both as they grew up there.

Pittsburgh: A Safe and Scenic Haven

The couple might be setting up shop in Pittsburgh, but they're not giving up on their wanderlust. Caitlin described their new neighborhood as "idyllic," and a place where she feels truly safe. "I’ve never been in a more beautiful neighborhood in Pittsburgh," she gushed, adding that they had considered moving for quite some time before finally taking the leap.

Though Pittsburgh will be home, Caitlin and Joe plan to continue their extensive travels. The duo enjoys collecting art and mementos from their travels, having visited over 70 cities in the past two years. "Joe and I have been sort of on a world tour since we met," Caitlin revealed. "We try to collect a piece of art from all over the world and bring it back.”

Their engagement was confirmed in October 2025, after two years of dating, with Caitlin sharing a sweet moment when she realized Joe was The One. As they embrace their new chapter in Pennsylvania, it's clear that for Joe and Caitlin, home is wherever they decide to make it.
