Josh Duhamel has opened up about the differences that defined his marriage with former Black Eyed Peas member Fergie. During an appearance on The Skinny Confidential podcast, the actor, known for his roles in 'London Calling' and 'Ransom Canyon,' shared candid reflections on their relationship. Married in 2009, the couple's journey concluded in 2019, but not without leaving a meaningful legacy.
"We're just very different," Duhamel shared, breaking down the essence of their dynamic. "We just have different views of the world, and that's okay." Despite their differences, Duhamel expressed no regrets, especially considering the joy of their shared child, Axl Jack Duhamel.
“We had a great time, but I think we kind of outgrew each other and had very different interests," Duhamel said, explaining the natural evolution of their relationship.
Since parting ways with Fergie, Duhamel found love again with model and former Miss World America, Audra Mari. The pair tied the knot in 2022 in North Dakota, and welcomed their son, Shepherd Lawrence, in 2024. Duhamel acknowledges that both Fergie and Mari are "really, really great women," sharing traits of kindness and a non-confrontational nature.
Duhamel highlighted the amicable relationship between the two women, stating, "We have a good relationship. She and Audra have a great relationship," emphasizing the cooperative spirit that extends beyond their past.
In a previous interview on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast, Duhamel reflected on finding peace with his eight-year marriage to Fergie. Describing a return to his roots in North Dakota as a personal fulfillment, he acknowledged that their different aspirations and interests naturally led them apart.
“Fergie is also very wholesome, believe it or not, especially since she stepped away from it all,” Duhamel added, dispelling any misconceptions about his famous ex. Their shared history, free of animosity, continues to influence Duhamel's grounded perspective, embracing the simple and genuine pleasures of life back in his hometown.
