Red Carpet Reunion in Los Angeles

Kevin Costner, looking every bit the Hollywood icon, made a striking appearance alongside the legendary Morgan Freeman on the red carpet this past Thursday. The duo gathered for the screening of their much-anticipated historical drama, 'The Gray House,' premiering on February 26, 2026, on Amazon Prime Video. This eight-part series delves into the untold stories of espionage during the Civil War.

Costner and Freeman, who also serve as executive producers of the series, were the talk of the event. Known for their previous collaboration in the 1991 film 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves,' this reunion brought a wave of nostalgia and anticipation.

Nostalgia and Mutual Respect

During an interview with ET Online, Kevin Costner shared fond memories of working with Freeman. "He's a consummate actor. We stepped into this Robin Hood mythology, and he was just immediately available as a man, as an actor," said Costner, recalling their dynamic on-set sword fights.

“We knew, almost like [The] Gray House, we knew we had a very good script. We knew that we had a very good retelling of Robin Hood. And the script, the direction, and all reflected that.”

Morgan Freeman, meanwhile, charmed the crowd with his humor, joking about the hazy memories of their first collaboration, "I remember having a good time doing it," he laughed. "That’s about it. It’s 35 years, and I don’t remember much."

The 'Gray House' Project

'Gray House,' based on real historical events, stars Daisy Head, Mary-Louise Parker, and Amethyst Davis. The story follows Elizabeth Van Lew, a Virginian heroine who led a spy ring for the Union, and shines a light on lesser-known aspects of American history. Costner emphasized the series' compelling narrative, stating, "We're still storytellers at our core. We recognized it as real entertainment first and foremost – wrapped in a true story."

Freeman added, "Kevin’s been involved in history," nodding to Costner's past works like 'Dances With Wolves' and 'Yellowstone.' "Stories like this are really worth telling – especially the ones nobody ever knew about."

This red carpet event not only marked a celebration of their new venture but also a reminder of the powerful storytelling bond between these two Hollywood titans.
