Kevin Hart, the comedy powerhouse we know and love, has been immortalized in wax – but not without some serious questions. This past week, the Hollywood Wax Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee unveiled a life-size figure in his likeness. Hart, always one to find humor in the unexpected, invited his fans to 'Laugh at My Pain' – much like the title of his 2011 comedy special.
Upon seeing the waxwork, Hart took to Instagram to share his disbelief, even calling it "the Temu version" of himself. One fan commented, "Who in the **** is this??????" echoing Hart's own bemusement.
“WTTTTFFFFF …. What did I do to these people…. This is an attack…. At this point these museums are just trying to make me cry … This **** has to stop…. I demand a redo **** it!!!!!!!”
Hart's critique of the wax figure wasn’t just a one-man show. His buddy and "Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist" co-star, Don Cheadle, added more fuel to the fire, urging Hart to "Cook. Him." Meanwhile, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, famous for his own wax figure mishaps, couldn't resist the chance to poke fun: "It’s PERFECT," he jested. "Don’t change a thing."
Fellow comedians like HaHa Davis and Star Jones couldn't help but get in on the jokes. Davis joked that he mistook the figure for himself, while Jones commented on the lack of resemblance, "This don’t make NO kind of sense!"
Despite the mixed reviews, Hart joins an exclusive club of celebrities whose wax likenesses have missed the mark. Sharing this honor with Taylor Swift, Michelle Obama, and Princess Diana, it seems like a rite of passage for A-listers.
Fortunately, the museum did manage to capture Hart’s skin tone accurately – a detail that wasn’t quite right with Dwayne Johnson’s controversial figure at Musée Grévin in Paris. All in all, Hart's wax figure debut may not have been smooth, but in true Hollywood fashion, it provided plenty of laughs and sparked a storm of internet memes.
