Paris Jackson is breaking her silence, and it's all about the much-anticipated Michael Jackson biopic that's been making waves in Hollywood. The 28-year-old daughter of the King of Pop took to social media to share her unfiltered thoughts on the film and why she's choosing to stay away. In a heartfelt video, Paris explained that while many fans might find joy in the movie, it's not something she can rally behind.
“A big reason why I haven't said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are going to be happy with it,” she shares candidly. “The film panders to a very specific section of my dad's fandom that still lives in the fantasy. And they're going to be happy with it.”
Paris doesn't mince words when it comes to the biopic's portrayal of her father. She criticizes the film for presenting a "fantasyland" version of events, expressing concerns over "a lot of inaccuracy" and even "full-blown lies." To Paris, the narrative feels controlled and inauthentic, and that doesn't sit well with her. "At the end of the day, that doesn't really fly with me," she explains. "I don't really like dishonesty. I spoke up, I wasn't heard, I f***ed off."
Addressing fans directly, Paris tackles the misconception that her lack of involvement means she harbors negative feelings towards her late father. She dismisses these rumors, asserting that her decision is rooted in a preference for honesty over commercial success. Last year, she had already labeled the project "dishonest," standing firm in her conviction.
Adding more to the drama, Paris fired back at actor Colman Domingo's claims that she and her brother Prince were supportive of the film. In a spicy Instagram clapback, she clarified that she had "0% involvement" in the movie, having only read an early script and shared feedback that went unaddressed. Her parting words? "Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and godspeed."
