Last week, authorities reported that Alva-Rodriguez, behind the wheel of a 2005 Toyota Tacoma, collided head-on with a Toyota Camry after crossing lanes while drunk. The Camry, driven by a 26-year-old man from Yuma, Arizona, and carrying several passengers, suffered severe damage. Among the victims were three children – two boys aged 5 and 4, and an 8-year-old girl who tragically succumbed to her injuries.

“How many deaths of children at the hands of criminal illegal aliens need to happen before Governor Newsom and sanctuary politicians will prioritize the safety and security of American families?” questioned Department of Homeland Security's Tricia McLaughlin.

Recurrent Offender Raises Alarm

This incident raises serious concerns as Alva-Rodriguez is not new to the system. His history of drunk driving, including arrests in 2020 and 2021 for driving under the influence and a hit-and-run, paints a concerning picture of repeated offenses. South Dakota's Secretary Kristi Noem has also weighed in, urging Governor Newsom to honor ICE's detainer for Alva-Rodriguez.
