A jury has decided not only to grant substantial reparations to the former housekeeper, Maria Avila, who was injured in the incident, but also to her husband, who claims their marital bliss was disrupted as a result. While Maria walked away with a hefty award, the jury also recognized her husband, Oscar Olivo, with a $50,000 payout. According to court documents accessed by RadarOnline, Olivo needed compensation for the "loss of love, companionship, comfort, care, assistance, protection, affection, society, moral support, and enjoyment of sexual relations" following the attack. “After hearing all of the evidence, the jury rejected those claims and found that she was not at fault,” Maria's attorney, Nancy Doumanian, stated.

Maria Avila was awarded nearly $12.9 million for the physical and emotional trauma she suffered when Hades, a Caucasian Shepherd Ovcharka, attacked her while she was on the job at Chris Brown's home back in December 2020. Her sister, Patricia Avila, also present during the incident, received $885,000 for emotional distress, a detail reported by Billboard.

Throughout the trial, Maria testified that she was never warned about the dog's aggressive nature, and the injuries left her with lasting scars, including facial disfigurement and vision impairment.
